This trip was well planned out. Lol, that plan went out the window when my buddy Joel wasn't catching fish. We were improvising, then my buddy didn't feel well and went home (he spent 6 hours in the emergency room but I'm glad to report that he's okay now) It was just me and the dogs Ash & Juni. Being all new country for me, I was exploring around a bit, which almost got me into trouble. I found myself rock-crawling my Toyota Tundra on a remote trail that I wasn't sure I could get through. Luckily everything worked out. I ended up backpacking my camping gear into the lake where I spent the night tarp camping and caught some nice fish. I caught and released two beautiful Arctic Grayling, two Rainbows and two Brooke Trout, one of which I kept for dinner cooking my traditional trout and potatoes dinner on the Firebox Stove. All this improvising caught up to me at the end of the trip when I found myself in the wilderness with all my camping gear and my packable folding Kayak, Too much to comfortably pack out so rather than make two trips I manned up and worked myself like a rented mule carrying the heaviest backpack of my life. In the end, it really wasn't that hard and gave me a great work out getting me in shape for the rest of this backpacking season 🙂 Good Times!
