Golden Mile Complex (黄金坊)
It is almost a Thai city in Singapore.
Its inside is filled with chaostic atmosphere, Thai restaurants, Thai general good stores, Thai Supermarket, Thai clubs and so on.
The strip of land between Nicoll Highway and Beach Road is called Golden Mile.
It was used to be occupied by squatters and small marine industries.
All services are provided to it from Beach Road side.
The stepped profile facing Nicol Highway reminds me Potala palace in Lasa.
This unique shape enhances natural ventilation and reduces the impact of noise from the road traffic.
In 2006, it was described as a “vertical slum” by a Singapore politician.
Extensions, zinc sheets, patched floors, glass were added and an extra room over their balconies was created by residents.
I understand why it also reminds me Kowloon City (九龍城) in Hong Kong.
I love MAMA instant shrimp Tom Yam noodles sold at “Thai Supermarket” on second storey.
I’m a bit addicted to it because I sometimes have it for breakfast, lunch, midnight snack.
I topped prawns, squids, coriander, fried egg as picture 10 shows.
You can buy variety of Thai goods and foods there.

それは、シンガポールの中にあるタイの都市のようなものです。
建物内は混沌とした雰囲気で、タイ料理店、タイ雑貨屋、タイのスーパーマーケット、タイのクラブ等で溢れています。
ニコル•ハイウェイとビーチロードの間の土地はゴールデン•マイルと呼ばれています。
かつては、不法占拠者や小さな海洋業者が占めていました。
この建物の全サービスは、ビーチロード側から提供されます。
ニコル•ハイウェイに面した階段状の形状は、ラサのポタラ宮を思い出させます。
独特な形状は自然換気を強化し、道路交通からの騒音を軽減します。
2006年には、シンガポールの政治家によって「垂直スラム」と表現されました。
拡張、亜鉛シート、パッチを適用した床、ガラスが追加され、バルコニー上に居住者が追加の部屋を造りました。
今は無き香港の九龍城を思い出させる理由も理解できます。
私は2階の「タイスーパー」で売られているMAMA即席えびトムヤム麺が大好きです。
朝食、昼食、夜食にもするので、少し中毒状態です。

ここでは様々なタイの商品や食べ物を買うことができます。
