Today’s Bento: Pan fried mackerel, bell pepper stir fry, and mustard broccoli salad. It’s getting cold in the Bay Area now. Can’t believe that two weeks ago it was still hot during the day, and this crazy year is finally coming to an end. When it starts turning cold, I like to have some spicy dish in my bento to warm up myself. Today’s bell pepper stir fry is sweet, sour, and with a kick of spice. I got this flavor combo from Korean dish and really love it ever since. Only with few ingredients, this dish is easy and healthy. Now it’s one of my go-to favorite bento side dishes. 🥢Whisk together 1spoon of gochujang (Korean chili paste) with 1 spoon of honey, 1spoon of ketchup, and few soy sauce in a small bowl. 🥢Get 3 kinds of non-leafy vegetables from your fridge and cut them into bite size. Usually I’d go with bell pepper and mushrooms for these requires shorter time to be cooked. 🥢Sauté vegetables till soften, and the add in the sauce. What’s you favorite winter dish? Today’s Bento: Pan fried mackerel, bell pepper stir fry, and mustard broccoli salad.

It’s getting cold in the Bay Area now. Can’t believe that two weeks ago it was still hot during the day, and this crazy year is finally coming to an end.

When it starts turning cold, I like to have some spicy dish in my bento to warm up myself. Today’s bell pepper stir fry is sweet, sour, and with a kick of spice. I got this flavor combo from Korean dish and really love it ever since. Only with few ingredients, this dish is easy and healthy. Now it’s one of my go-to favorite bento side dishes.
