🌸 Hinamatsuri – ひな祭り 🌸

Today’s obento is simple, but as a noodles lover, it’s one of my favourites.
Spaghetti with broccoli pesto.

I made the pesto in the morning and store a jar of it in the fridge, ready to use during the week as a snack with veggies, on top of toast, or as a salad dressing 💚

Also, to all the lovely ladies out there, Happy ひな祭りの日！

Today in Japan is Hinamatsuri (doll festival), the day when people pray for the growth and success of young girls.
Many families display in their homes Hina-ningyo, a set of dolls in which the emperor, empress, three court ladies, five court musicians, two ministers and three servants are displayed.
(This is the traditional full set, usually, people simply display the emperor and empress).

And yes, it is a great opportunity to eat good delicacies like Chirashi Sushi, clam soup, shirozake and hishimochi 💕.

I couldn’t find Hishimochi in our local supermarket (there is a Wagashi shop but it’s a bit too far from our house), but to celebrate this day I bought some beautiful Sakura Mochi!
