2019年3月まで名護市役所の壁にシーサーがありました。
漆喰製のシーサーの壁が作られたのは1981年。当時名護市に55あった集落の各瓦職人1人ずつが1体ずつ作り、さらに名護市庁舎を足して56体の1つ1つ見た目も形も違うシーサーが並んでいました。しかし、時代とともに台風や塩害の被害によって、残っていたシーサーは45体。さらに残ったシーサーも落下などの危険があるという事ですべて撤去されました。
