I never knew driving can be so relaxing until I drove in Okinawa! With stunning coastlines hugging the azure blue waters, Okinawa is best explored by car 🚘!
Look at how happy I was 😄 with my rental car during my road trip! I picked up the car in Naha, the capital city of Okinawa, and headed up north. My road trip itineraries included many stops like American Village in Chatan and the beach resort in Onna Village.
The roads opened up to vast blue skies and the Okinawan blue ocean once I exited the last and most northern expressway stop, Kyoda. The drive from Nago to the most northern part of Okinawa mainland, Cape Hedo 辺戸岬 was stunningly scenic.
The road trip was very relaxing as I made many fun stops along the way at road stations, michi-no-eki 道の駅, to buy snacks, drinks and local souvenirs.
If you ever have a chance to visit Okinawa, rent a car from car rental companiesーthere are so many to choose from. The most convenient places to pick up and return the rental cars is in Naha for your round-island road trip!
