Today marks two months we’ve been in Okinawa, and one month we’ve in our house. I’m almost done unpacking and organizing the house which has taken triple the time than it normally would, thanks to a very curious toddler. We live on base, so I’m still getting used to the loud sounds/sirens/alarms or whatever you want to call them at 7:30AM, 5:00PM and 10:00PM, and to the lovely weekly blackouts (IYKYK). I’m also getting used to “washing my trash” but it’s a small effort on our part to contribute to the big effort they do recycling all of it. I’ve only had two lizard encounters I guess because it has been cold, and none of them in our house so far (knock on wood!). I’m still not driving, but hopefully getting my license this month and then working on stopping being a scaredy cat about driving on the left. I’ve lucked out in the absolute best way having the beautiful @janet_belmontes here, and finding kindred spirits in the amazing @daniellereadslikealot and @amariespassport. We’re loving Okinawa so far, and cannot wait to see what adventures our time here will bring us. 🌸
