Ryukyu Glass Craft, one of 4 main glass shops, has the largest Ryukyu glass workshop on island. It’s located in the south of the island. A gallery, hands-on workshop, outlet and restaurants are on the premises. Glassworks, pottery and souvenirs are displayed for purchase. There are even a few sections with discounted items that are less then perfect or being discontinued.
Glass blowing takes around 5 minutes. There are plenty of safety and sanitary measure in place. You no longer get to blow the glass cup but you are aloud to shape it. Designs starting from 1,620 yen. If glass blowing doesn’t interest you they also have a Shisa molding class and mosaic frame class. There’s supposed to also be a perfume making class, however we had trouble getting a member of staff able to give us more information on it.
