Cherry blossoms 🌸 in Okinawa are the first to bloom in Japan! Blooming starts mid January. The Kanhizakura trees here are native to Taiwan. The petals form a bell shape in a deep shade of pink that bloom downward and fall intact to the ground at the end of blooming. Different from mainland Japan’s Yoshino cherry trees with pale pink blossoms that start blooming in March and lose petal one by one.
