I have a thing for Ferris Wheels. From always obsessively taking photos of them, buying ferris wheel themed stuff from Everland, stopping the car to see the one on the way to Lago Patria in Naples every single time I drove by it, wanting the Great Wheel of Seattle literally tattooed on me… I’ve always had a thing for Ferris Wheels. When we came to Okinawa one of the first things I told my husband was “I’m so happy there’s a ferris wheel here!” – As soon as I heard the rumor about the wheel in American Village getting torn down, we went to take a few more photos with it. Now demolition has started, and I’m sad that we never got to ride it, and I will miss not seeing what had become such a landmark up there every time we drive by Chatan.
