Seeing fragments of coral on the beaches. Thinking about Louise Bourgeois, Hans Arp, and Isamu Nogushi’s sculptures. Putting these corals in trays. Choosing a standardized mode to present them. Indexing a certain morbidity. Still lifes, relics, and/or a sort of image of the world? For sure, samplings were made for the purpose of study and there will be restitution for the sake of ethics.
