I’ve always had a fairly black and white vision of things and circumstances. As a result of my travels and observations of everyday life, I’ve realized that not everything is black and white. No matter how hard we try to place things or people in boxes. That is simply not how life works.
This picture is a fantastic depiction of how accurate this is.
Two elderly men are seated and playing a game. One is dressed in long pants and a jacket, while the other is dressed in shorts and a T-shirt. They are barely an arm’s length apart. They’re getting along and spending time playing with each other.

私はこれまで、物事や状況について、かなり白黒はっきりした見方をしてきました。しかし、旅をして日常を観察していると、すべてが白黒ではないことに気づきます。どんなに物事や人を枠にはめようとしても、そう簡単にはいかない。そんなことはあり得ないのです。
この写真は、それがいかに正確であるかを示す素晴らしい描写です。
二人の老人が座ってゲームをしています。一人は長ズボンにジャケット、もう一人は短パンにTシャツという格好です。二人はほとんど腕の長さほどの距離も離れていない。仲良く、時間をかけて遊んでいる。
