ðWhat I LOVE about Summer in Japan:
ðHonestly, I REALLY struggle during Japanese Summer months ð but here are things that I look forward to!
ð BEACH WEATHER-there are definitely beaches around Japan, but the most ideal weather is in the summer! Like most places, the coast is usually chillier so the summer months are the best time to go (& the breeze helps with the humidity)
ð¥³MATSURI-âMatsuriâ is the Japanese word for festival & there are TONS during the summertime. Itâs lovely to wear a Yukata & enjoy the local street food & dancing!
ð» FUJI HIKING SEASON- Itâs only possible to hike Fuji during the summertime! Because of the elevation, thereâs still snow even in august-but the trail is open to hikers from mid July-mid September! I hiked Fuji for sunrise from the summit & it was incredible!
ð¢ TURTLE BREEDING SEASON-This past year I went to Yakushima to witness turtle breeding! They usually lay their eggs on the beach during the month of July, and if youâre lucky enough youâll be able to witness it ð
ðº NOURYOUSEN-This is the booze cruise that happens in Tokyo bay! Itâs a fun experience to wear a Yukata (you get a discount if you wear one) & enjoy unlimited food & drinks! There are different types of cruises to experience under the Rainbow Bridge in Odaibað
