Do you know dragon boat races are also carried out on the island of Okinawa? The festival is called Hari,a fishermen’s festival with dragon boat races to pray for safe passage and bountiful harvest.⁣

I took this photo of fishermen in action during the Hari festival on Ou island or Ojima. Ever year in May, the locals celebrate their long relationship with the sea and their unique culture with dragon boat races!⁣
